ALTAVUE PLATFORM COOKIE POLICY
Last Updated: August 28, 2026
Policy version: 2026-08-28
Supersedes: the Cookie Policy previously generated and hosted by a third-party legal document service.
This Cookie Policy explains how Saber Management Solutions, LLC ("Saber Management," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies on the AltaVue Platform ("Platform"), what each one does, and what choices you have. It should be read alongside the AltaVue Platform Privacy Policy, which describes more broadly what information we collect and how we use it.
1. What Cookies and Similar Technologies Are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. Related technologies do the same job by different means:
- Local storage and session storage keep information in your browser without sending it back automatically on every request.
- Session cookies are erased when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain until they expire or you delete them.
- First-party cookies are set by the site you are visiting. Third-party cookies are set by another service whose code the site loads.
Throughout this Policy, "cookies" is used as shorthand for all of these unless a distinction matters.
2. Our Approach
AltaVue is a subscription business application, not an advertising-supported website. We use browser storage to keep you signed in, to remember your choices, and to run our customer support chat. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not sell information collected through cookies, and we do not use cross-site tracking or advertising-network pixels on the Platform.
Optional cookies are not set until you allow them. The first time you open any AltaVue module you are asked, and nothing optional loads before you answer. Section 5 explains how that works and how to change your answer at any time.
3. Categories We Use
Strictly necessary. Required for the Platform to function. These keep you signed in as you move between AltaVue modules, protect your session against tampering, enforce access controls, and remember your cookie choice. The Platform cannot operate without them, and they are not subject to consent.
Functional. Support features that improve the experience but are not essential to core operation, including our live chat support feature. These are set only if you allow them.
Analytics and performance. Where used, these help us understand aggregate usage and diagnose problems. They are not used to build advertising profiles, and they are set only if you allow them. Nothing on the Platform uses this category today; your choice is recorded now so it is already honored if that changes.
Advertising and targeting. Not used.
4. Cookies and Storage We Use
| Name or namespace | Set by | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
sb-<project>-auth-token (may be split across numbered parts) | AltaVue (first party, via our authentication provider) | Strictly necessary | Holds your signed-in session so you stay authenticated across AltaVue modules without signing in repeatedly | Session-based; refreshed while you remain active and cleared on sign-out |
altavue_consent | AltaVue (first party) | Strictly necessary | Remembers your cookie choice so you are not asked again on every page and every module, and so the choice is actually enforced. Contains a random identifier, the categories you allowed, the policy version, and the date | 180 days, or until you withdraw consent or clear your browser storage |
redirect, external, module | AltaVue (first party) | Strictly necessary | Short-lived values used to return you to the page you intended after signing in or completing a security step | Cleared once the navigation completes |
crisp-client namespace entries in browser storage | Crisp IM SAS (third party) | Functional | Identifies your chat session so a conversation continues if you navigate between pages or return later, and so unread replies reach the right browser | 30 minutes |
5. Your Consent, and How to Change It
The first time you open an AltaVue module, a banner asks whether optional cookies are allowed. Until you answer, no optional cookie is set and no optional third-party code is loaded โ the live chat is not fetched into your browser at all.
The banner offers three routes: allow everything, reject everything that is not essential, or open a panel and choose category by category. Reject is presented with the same prominence as Accept, and there is no way to dismiss the banner without answering โ leaving it unanswered simply means optional cookies stay off.
The banner does not block your access to AltaVue. Sign-in and session cookies are strictly necessary, require no consent, and continue to work whatever you choose. The only thing withheld is the live chat.
Changing or withdrawing your answer. Open the "Change cookie preferences" control at the top of this page at any time. You can switch individual categories on or off, or withdraw your consent entirely. Withdrawal takes effect immediately: the live chat is removed and its conversation cleared from that browser. It does not sign you out, and it does not affect your access to anything else.
Your answer is remembered across every AltaVue module, so you are asked once rather than once per module. If this Policy changes materially โ a new service, a new category โ the policy version above changes and everyone is asked again.
Our record of your choice. If you are signed in when you answer, we also record the choice in our own systems: which account answered, what was chosen, when, from which module, and which policy version. That record cannot be edited or deleted once written. We keep it so that we can demonstrate, if asked, that consent was given. If you are not signed in, your answer is kept only in your own browser and nothing is recorded on our side.
6. The Live Chat Feature
The Platform includes a live chat feature, provided by Crisp IM SAS, that appears as a chat button on Platform pages once you have allowed functional cookies. It is available on the sign-in page too, so that a user who cannot get into their account can still reach us.
When the chat is allowed and loads, the chat provider's code runs in your browser and stores an identifier so that your conversation persists rather than restarting on every page. If you are signed in, we also transmit your name, email address, organization name, role, subscription tier, user and organization identifiers, and the AltaVue module you are using, so that our support staff know who they are helping without asking. If you are not signed in, none of that is transmitted and the conversation begins anonymous.
The chat provider is established in France and processes this data on infrastructure in the European Union. The Privacy Policy describes that transfer and the safeguards applying to it.
Signing out clears the conversation from that browser. This matters on shared or job-site computers: the next person to use that browser does not inherit your chat history.
7. Your Other Choices
Cookie preferences. The control at the top of this page is the direct route, described in Section 5.
Browser controls. Every major browser also lets you view, block, and delete cookies and clear site storage, usually under Settings, Privacy or Security. Browser help pages describe the current steps.
What breaks if you block them. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in to AltaVue at all โ the Platform cannot maintain a session without them. Clearing them also erases your recorded cookie choice, so the banner will ask again. Blocking or clearing the chat feature's storage will end the current conversation and start a new one the next time you open the chat; the Platform itself will continue to work normally.
Not using the chat. Use of the live chat is voluntary. You can reach us by email or through the customer portal instead.
Do Not Track. Browsers may send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for responding to it, and the Platform does not currently alter its behavior in response. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies regardless.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as the Platform changes or as we add or remove service providers. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date and the policy version above, and by asking you for your cookie choice again.
